Overview

Overview

As the saying goes, “Every creation has its flaw” and every design has its blindspot so it is imperative to focus on every aspect of designing a process or any creation. Creation can vary accordingly from giant buildings to huge ships and submarines to even minute electrical components but the design has to be bespoke to the level of creation and must undergo varying levels of complexity.

Early people used to create their designs by drawing on cardboards, papers, canvases, and then making models out of them to showcase the base design of what they would be working on in the final prototype. But this used to be time-consuming and tedious. So now, technology has come to the rescue of designing as well.

Using the power of computers, we are now able to design 2D and 3D model equivalents of our real-life prototypes. This is done using a software called ‘Computer-Aided Design’ or as it is commonly called as “CAD” or “AutoCAD”. The latter name came out of AutoDesk which invented and created this software solely with the purpose of helping ease the design process.

AutoCAD was first released in December 1982. Today the inception of any project in creation is done with designing through AutoCAD and it has proven to be an inextricable part of the same. Despite the imminent competition, AutoCAD is the #1 software for designing.
